Draft for legal review. This describes how the app works today; it is not yet a reviewed legal document.
Who we are
Erkan is made by Seigotic, Chennai, India. Seigotic decides how your data is used in Erkan and is responsible for it. This policy covers the Erkan iPhone and Apple Watch apps and the Erkan websites.
The websites
erkan.seigotic.com and the Erkan web demo show example data only. You cannot sign in on the web, and no website asks for or shows your health data. The websites set no advertising or tracking cookies. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (such as network address and browser type) for security.
What the app collects
Your account: you sign in with Apple or Google, and we keep the email address that gives us. With Google, we also keep the name and picture on your Google account. With Apple, we get your name only if you choose to share it, and if you choose Hide My Email, Apple gives us a private relay address (ending in privaterelay.appleid.com) that forwards to your real email, which we never see.
Your profile: year of birth, sex, height, sleep need and time zone, which the scores depend on.
Apple Health data, only the types you allow: sleep and sleep stages, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, blood oxygen, sleeping wrist temperature, steps, active and resting energy, exercise minutes, VO₂max, body weight and workouts; and, as one summary value a day, the other types you allow, such as body measurements, mobility, hearing, nutrition, blood pressure, glucose, symptoms and mindful minutes. Menstrual flow is read only if you turn on cycle tracking, and it stays on your phone.
Data from a service you connect, when it is available and only if you connect it: Google Health (your Google or Fitbit account), Oura, Polar or WHOOP. Erkan reads the same kinds of measurements from them and never writes to them.
What you type in: meals, journal entries, strength sessions, lab results, and the weight and body measurements (neck, chest, waist, hips, arm, thigh and calf) you log in your weekly body check.
Plan details if you subscribe: plan, status and dates. Payment details stay with Apple; Erkan never sees them.
Product events: names of steps such as “signed up” or “opened Plans” with a time, to see which features help. They never include health values, messages or your email.
Apple Health
Erkan reads Apple Health data only after you allow it, and only the types you allow. Erkan writes to Apple Health only if you ask it to: the meals, water and caffeine you log, when you turn on Write meals to Apple Health, and the workouts you record on Apple Watch. Readings are sent over an encrypted connection to Erkan's database so your scores and baselines can be calculated and shown on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
Apple Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never shared with data brokers and never used for anything other than your own scores, trends and Ask Erkan answers. Erkan does not store it in iCloud. You can stop access at any time in the Health app, under Sharing, Apps, Erkan.
How we use it
To calculate your scores against your own baseline, show your trends, answer the questions you ask in Ask Erkan, run your subscription and keep the service secure (for example, rate limits keyed to a one-way hash of your network address).
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Ask Erkan and AI providers
When you ask a question in Ask Erkan, a summary of your recent readings is sent with your question to an AI provider (Google Gemini or Anthropic) to write the answer. It holds your last 14 days of scores and baselines, plus steps and active energy, VO2 max, blood oxygen, breathing rate, last night's sleep stages, recent workouts and strength sets, the latest meal totals, water, weight, blood pressure and glucose summaries, flagged lab values and today's journal. The iPhone app also sends the daily goals you set on the phone (steps, water, calories and macros) with your question, so Ask Erkan can compare a reading to your goal. Meal names, workout titles and notes are not sent. That summary is calculated from your health data, including Apple Health data. Your name, email and notes are not sent. This happens only when you ask a question, and only once the provider account is on terms that exclude training on your data; otherwise answers come from Erkan's own rule engine and nothing leaves Erkan.
Ask Erkan explains your numbers. It does not diagnose, and it is not medical advice.
Who processes it for us
Supabase (database and sign-in, hosted in Sydney, Australia), Vercel (hosting, in India and the United States), Apple (sign-in, if you sign in with Apple, and App Store purchases and subscriptions: Erkan receives only the signed transaction that says which plan is active and until when), Google (sign-in if you sign in with Google, and Google Health if you connect it) and the AI provider above. Each processes data only to provide its part of the service. Because of this, your data may be stored and processed in Australia, India and the United States.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. When you delete your account in the app, your data is deleted from Erkan's database straight away, Google Health access is revoked. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID subscription settings. If you ask us by email instead, we do the same within 30 days. Records Apple must keep for tax law stay with Apple. To give each person one free trial, Erkan keeps a keyed one-way hash of your sign-in email after your account is deleted. It cannot be turned back into your email and is used for nothing else. Signing out of the app removes the data stored on your phone.
Your rights and choices
You can delete your account and everything in it at any time in the Erkan iPhone app: open the You tab and tap Delete account at the bottom. If you cannot use the app, email the address below from the email on your account and we will delete it within 30 days.
You can also ask for a copy of your data or ask us to correct it by emailing the address below; we reply within 30 days. You can stop Apple Health access in the Health app and Google Health access in your Google account settings at any time.
Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act or the GDPR), you may also have the right to withdraw consent, to nominate someone to act for you, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Erkan is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has used Erkan, contact us and we will delete the account.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Every table is protected so one account cannot read another's data. Sign-in tokens are kept in the iPhone Keychain. Google Health access tokens are kept where only Erkan's server can read them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app before a material change takes effect.
